Fresh Pick #1:
Who: The Operators
What: Garage Rock
Why: OPERATORS is one of those bands for every situation, every location and every party. they are one of those bands that are impossible to pigeonhole into one specific genre as they range from psychedelic rock to heavy rock to groovy, hip-swinging, shake-your-hair-up tracks… I mean you could almost go as far as saying operators are some kind of punk rock version of The Doors. I mean, anything is possible, because its all in there!
Fresh Pick #2:
Who: Elephant Stone
What: Psychedelic
Why: Don't let the name fool you, Eleohant Stone is NOT a Stone Roses cover band-they are one of the vital acts in today's psych scene. To date the trio has released three solid and swoonworthy full length album and their fourth is coming later this year. While the band has not announced an official release date quite yet, they have premiered three singles from the album, one of which is featured below. All three singles are so infectious and glorious that you almost have to drool knowing even more Elephant Stone will be unleashed soon!
Fresh Pick #3:
Who: Nite Jewel
What: Electronic
Why: Nite Jewel's low fi charm makes her sound she is the loneliest girl in the world and she is at it again for her third full length, "Liquid Cool" which is set to drop early June via her private label, Gloriette Records. The album explores the theme of being alone in a crowded, disconnected world.
